Celtic Spring

Members of this talented band include the Wood family children: Elizabeth (15), Deirdre (13), Sean (11) and Patrick (9). This quartet is now joined by their youngest sister, Maire (5), dancing her sprightly jigs and reels, and their father, Greg, weaving into their fiddling the rich beat of the bodhran.

Celtic Spring performs the best of the driving dance music of Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, occasionally slowing the tempo with a haunting air or lyrical waltz. Throughout their show, one or two of the performers will put down their fiddles to dance-creating a dynamic interaction between the fiddling and dancing.

In their hometown area of Santa Barbara, Celtic Spring has become a favorite, called upon regularly to perform at festivals, schools, civic events, weddings, pubs and private parties. They have also received great responses in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Dallas, Austin, Galveston and Boston. Celtic Spring has toured five times in Texas and is delighted to return to Dallas for their third North Texas Irish Festival.
