Emerald
School of Irish Dance
Students
of all ages enjoy learning the art of traditional Irish step dancing
at the Emerald School of Irish Dance. Our dancers perform
both traditional and non-traditional Irish step dancing (including
slow and fast hornpipes and jigs), figure dancing, and Riverdance
style dancing throughout north Texas. The school began in Montpelier,
Vermont in 1968 with 35 students under the direction of Emily Touzin
who is originally from Dublin. After 4 years in Houston, the school
moved to Dallas where it has been since 1977. Studios in Grand Prairie
were added in 1996, directed by Emily's daughter, Leslie Middleton.
