Glass
and Taft
When
they join for practice, their music often begins with concertos
and ends with free spirited jigs and reels. It seems fitting to
continue these sessions at the North Texas
Irish Festival for friends who share this love of traditional
Celtic music. Earnie Taft, of the Irish Rogues, plays violin (fiddle),
mandolin and bazouki. Katie Glass, 19 years old, plays flute. Katie
is also a champion Irish Step Dancer who will end each set with
a highflying reel or jig. Jenny Glass, Katie's mom, is a classical
harpist who will play Irish harp. Together they will blend instruments
and play a diverse variety of traditional tunes to please all that
share their love of Celtic music.
