Jigsaw
Together
as a trio for the previous 12 years, Kevin, Peggy and Ken are veteran
players with significant involvement in the music regionally for
several decades. Peggy and Ken, along with James Brunke and Peggy
Turner, are founding members of the Southwest
Celtic Music Association and the North
Texas Irish Festival of which Ken served as president
and Festival director, respectively,
during their forming years. Peggy was the first editor of SCMA's
CEILI newsletter while Kevin has served as a Festival
director and served on the board and in various other capacities
with the SCMA and the Festival.
James Reed
is not new to Irish music and has played with other local bands
in recent years before being asked to join Jigsaw. James plays guitar,
banjo, mandolin, bodhran and whistle. Kevin plays flute, guitar,
mandolin, banjo and whistle.
Peggy
plays fiddle and remains the lead vocalist of the group. Ken
plays button accordion, concertina, banjo, guitar, mandolin and
whistle. As the name implies, Jigsaw interlocks their multiple talents
to form one of Texas' finest ensembles playing traditional Irish
dance tunes and songs.
