Adam
McNaughtan
Adam
McNaughtan is a respected performer of the songs of Scotland and
featured in last year's Edinburgh International Festival singing
some of the big ballads. He is best known, however, for his work
on Glasgow's own treasury of songs from tradition and music-hall.
Some of his own compositions have passed into that tradition, notably
"The Jeelie Piece Song" and "The Glasgow That I Used to Know".
He has two
CDs oncurrent release: Last Stand at Mount Florida & The Words That
I Used to Know. The latter is a re-issue of his first two albums.
(originally cassettes and not, as has been suggested, wax cylinders).
He was editor of Volume 5 of the Greig-Duncan Collection of Songs
from the North East of Scotland.
