Zan Mcleod
His
1999 GRAMMY with Paul Winter for Celtic Solstice is only one recent
highlight in Zan McLeod's long musical career. One of the world's
most popular acoustic accompanists, McLeod began with Touchstone
and hails from North Carolina. He fluidly shifts from old-time American
to Irish traditional styles and is known for his driving and inventive
playing. A virtuoso on both guitar and bouzouki he has recorded
with Liz Carroll - Lost in the Loop (2000), The Chieftains - Tears
of Stone (2000), and James Kelly - The Ring Sessions and James Kelly
(1995, 97). His solo release - Highland Soul (1993) -won several
WAMA awards, including best recording. McLeod is a skilled sound
engineer - producer and owns and operates TONEHOUSE recording studio
in Potomac, MD.
